Govinda was wary of Hansika

Not many will know this, but when director Ganesh Acharya first told Govinda that 17-year old Hansika Motwani was to be his heroine in MONEY HAI TOH HONEY HAI, he was taken aback.

Govinda told Ganesh to reconsider the casting and asked him (Ganesh) if their (Govinda-Hansika) pair would look alright! A confident Ganesh said it would look absolutely fab! When Govinda's apprehension remained, Ganesh resorted to a rather intelligent one liner. He said to Govinda when Hansika was ready, why should he have a problem, and in a way it was like stalling Hansika's budding career! To that the kind hearted Govinda had no answer, and the rest, as they say is history.




In a way, one feels that Ganesh Acharya has done a casting coup of sorts because the contrasting personalities of a rather mature Govinda and the youthful exuberance of Hansika Motwani is looking just great. One can only wait anxiously to catch them on screen, as the release date of MONEY HAI TOH HONEY HAI draws closer!
