On her birthday recently, actress Amrita Rao got a surprise gift that is believed to have a value of Rs. 3 crore.
That special gift was three paintings of hers by the renowned Indian painter M F Hussain , who became Amrita’s admirer after being bowled over by her natural, ethereal beauty in Sooraj Barjatya’s film Vivaah .
Hussain remembered Amrita’s birthday and sent her three paintings as gift. Two paintings have Amrita in the attire of a small-town girl she played in ‘Vivaah’. The third painting, showing Amrita as Anarkarli, is inspired from the actress’s performance at the Filmfare Awards early this year.
It is believed that the market value of these three painting would at least be Rs. 3 crore.
Amrita, who was flabbergasted after receiving Hussain’s gift, says: “It is an honour to be the subject of Hussain saab’s paintings.”
Hussain, on his part, says he is not yet done with Amrita. He wants to paint a portrait of her on the banks of river Seine in Paris.
Not just this, the painter is planning to make another film to complete his trilogy after Gajagamini and Meenaxi both of which featured his two previous muses – Madhuri Dixit and Tabu .
