Ever since the release of DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL in the winter gone by, John Abraham has been lying low as far as the release of his films are concerned.

Though he has been involved with numerous events and has also been seen as a part of a music video, it has been quite a while since he was seen on the big screen. There have been talks about his AASHAYEIN hitting theaters for last 6 months but as per the latest release plans, the film has been further pushed by 3 months and would now not be coming before the month of September.

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, AASHAYEIN (which brings together the filmmaker and the actor for the first time ever) is a movie about a compulsive gambler who is informed that he just had a few more months to live. A sensitive drama, it saw its promotion picking up the ante around 6 weeks back, only to be brought down soon. Though no specific reason has yet been given about the delay in the film's release, there is widespread speculation that first IPL and later flurry of other big releases as an aftermath of the 20-20 cricket tournament resulted in change of plans for the film.

Since there are a couple of big/notable movies releasing practically every week till the end of August, it is believed that the makers decided to postpone the release date. The film is now sighting 5th September as its day of arrival.

The only other film that John would be seen in before the year end is Abhishek Bachchan-Priyanka Chopra starrer DOSTANA. A romantic comedy which also features Bobby Deol in a special appearance, DOSTANA is a Karan Johar production directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The film is mostly likely to arrive in the month of November.
